Squips (Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor[s]) are supercomputers in Be More Chill that can be implanted into brains by taking a pill. They help the beholder accomplish their goals, such as becoming popular or winning the affection of someone. They eventually become the main antagonist of the musical, when they go too far to accomplish their goal and attempt to take over Jeremy's school (and after, possibly the world).
Squips are made in Japan and not legally released to the public. They are found on the black market and possessed by many celebrities. In Jeremy's school, they are often bought from a drug dealer who works in a Payless Shoe Store.
The Book Background[]
There is no true background of the Squip given in the musical (besides what has been stated above), but the book that the musical was based on - Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini - gives a brief history of the Squip. It is unknown if this is canon to the musical, but it is the only existing background about them.
In the book, the Squip is developed by Sony. A device named VeriChip (a microcomputer implanted into the brain surgically) already exists, but it is impractical and the procedure to implant it "[involves] a needle large enough to dose an elephant". Although Squips surpass any previously existing CPUs, Sony planned to make it more easily accessible and compared it to an "ingestible Palm Pilot". It can also be written as SQUIP, Squip, or squip.
Physical Appearance[]
On one cover of the book version of Be More Chill, the Squip is depicted as a blue chip with silicone-chip-esque lines. However, in both the text and the musical, it is described as a grey, oblong pill. In the musical, Jeremy claims it's similar to a Wintergreen Tic Tac.
Once a Squip is implanted into a brain, it takes on a physical form, having a default appearance of someone the beholder admires. The beholder can change the Squips appearance to whoever they want. Its default form is someone that the beholder will listen to.

- Jeremy: His squip has always been Keanu Reeves in every production.
- Christine: In the original production, Christine tells Jeremy her squip was Hillary Clinton, but this changes throughout the shows. In the revival, her squip was Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and in the final production, her squip was Greta Thunberg.
- Rich: Joked by Joe Tracz to be Evil Kermit, but is confirmed to be Lara Croft from Tomb Raider by Joe Iconis.
- Brooke - It has been confirmed by Joe Iconis that her squip is Mary-Kate Olsen.
- Chloe - It has been heavily implied that Chloe was her own squip, due to her insecurities.
- Jenna: Her squip remains unknown.
- Jake: His squip was confirmed to be James Vanderbeek.
