Jeremy Heere is the main protagonist of Be More Chill, and a junior at Middleborough High School. He is uncool, uninteresting, and wishes he can do more than survive in high school, as well as get his long time crush Christine Canigula to notice him. After learning about the Squip from his bully, Rich Goranski, Jeremy buys one and takes it, and learns how to become popular with help of his Squip, not realizing the dangers that await him.

"I think I just blew my Bar Mitzvah money on a Wintergreen TicTac"

Character description

Jeremy is sweet, introspective, awkward, and very much uncool, and he just hopes to keep his head down enough to survive high school and maybe get the girl of his dreams, Christine Canigula, to notice him. When he's given the opportunity to have a supercomputer called a Squip (Super Quantum Unit Intel Processor) implanted in his brain that tells him how to become popular, he has to balance following its rules with following his own heart.[1]

Physical appearance

Jeremy is often called "Tall-ass" by Rich. When talking to him in the bathroom, he mentions that he's "not even that tall", and Rich says that he "would be if [he wasn't] slouched over all the time." After he gets his Squip, he stops slouching.

During the beginning of the musical, he wears a striped yellow and blue shirt with a dark blue cardigan as well as glasses in the Broadway production, but eventually changes into an Eminem shirt after he gets his Squip. He also stops needing his glasses when he has the Squip, due to it fixing his vision.
