- "I need you to reach out to him!
Jeremy won't listen to me
and... can't blame him...
but someone has to watch his back!" - ―Mr. Heere to Michael
Character Description[]
Sweet, cheerful, and a little pathetic, his wife’s departure the year before has left him in denial and struggling to cope. Terrified of everything, including stepping up as a father and wearing pants, he pretends everything is just fine.[1]
About[]
After his wife left him, he seems to give up, even going as far as not wearing pants when it's not 100% needed. When Jeremy sees his dad as a 'loser' he decides to make the final leap and buy the Squip.
Jeremy's dad feels like Jeremy is slipping away from him when Jeremy is under control of the Squip. In an attempt to help his son, he contacts Michael, puts his pants on, and confronts Jeremy.
At the end of the musical we see Mr. Heere wearing pants and showing up at the hospital to ground Jeremy. This shows that he is taking more control as a parent. Mr. Heere has one of the most noticeable character arcs in the musical.
