hey- just seeing this! i think that the ending you suggested def sounds more fulfilling, and i’ll say thr book doesn’t end the same but no spoilers (i haven’t read the book in like 3 years so if i’m wrong and the ending is the same anyone feel free to correct me)

Yall Im late as HECKKKKKK but I personally (as a hardcore Theaterdorks shipper) think the reason for the full 180 flip is actually because of the SQUIP in a way. Throughout the play Christine is super back and forth, she feels a connection to Jeremy but is easily confused by her feelings for Jake as well, and overall not understanding how to figure out life. When the SQUIP takes over Christine’s brain it didnt just convince her to like him, he cleared up some of the fog (hence why for once she actually rhymed her line instead of butchering it) so I think (and this is just my opinion I could be so off this is just what I think 😂😂😂😂) that the squip simply helped her realize that she does in fact like Jeremy, hence the sudden flip. After all throughout the play they had several “almost” moments that are kind of brushed off as Christine being oblivious. I think she just kinda didnt understand WHAT she wanted yet. So to me I don’t mind the flip around but it’s truly to each their own 🤷‍♀️🥰
